![]() The influence of bacteria on host cells is mediated by bacterial antigens and structural components (modulins), as well as lipopolysaccharides (LPS or endotoxins), peptidoglycans, lipoteichoic acids (LTA), fimbriae, flagella, outer membrane proteins, and exopolysaccharides, which altogether comprise MAMPs and determine bacterial virulence ( J. Certainly, regardless of bacteria’s pathogenicity to the host, all bacteria produce microbe-associated molecular patterns (MAMPs) or pathogen-associated molecular patterns (PAMPs) that are recognizable to the host cell pattern-recognition receptors (PRRs) ( Zhong et al., 2017). Noteworthy, residual bacterial biofilms and/or their components can persist in dentine tubules even after RET disinfection protocols and could potentially influence RET outcomes ( Verma et al., 2017). The microbiota of infected root canals housed in closed environments is comprised of bacteria that belong to the phyla Bacillota, Bacteroidota, Fusobacteriota, Actinomycetota, and Pseudomonadota ( Sakamoto et al., 2006 Siqueira et al., 2011 Manoharan et al., 2020) with a high prevalence of anaerobic species of the genus Bacteroides, Corynebacterium, Peptostreptococcus, and Fusobacterium ( Bergenholtz, 1974 Sundqvist and Figdor, 2003). Although promising, the successful outcome of RET has been jeopardized by bacterial persistence in the root canal, affecting the viability, proliferation, immune response, and differentiation potential of stem cells from the apical papilla (SCAP) ( Petridis et al., 2018a). Regenerative endodontic treatment (RET), a biological-based procedure, has shown promising clinical results evidencing root development ( Wikström et al., 2022) and pulp tissue regeneration ( Xuan et al., 2018). Indeed, in young children with immature teeth, infection will lead to the death of odontoblast cells and consequent interruption of root maturation ( Hecova et al., 2010). In this regard, polymicrobial oral microflora can invade normally sterile tissues like dental pulp and cause severe tooth damage. Violations of the integrity of the tooth by caries or traumatic dental injuries (TDI) increases the risk of developing pulp tissue inflammation, pulp necrosis, and periapical bone destruction ( Fouad, 2019). SCAP’s secretome assessed with Multiplex ELISA showed the upregulation of pro-inflammatory factors IL-6, IL-8, GM-CSF, IL-1b, neurotrophic factor BDNF, and angiogenic factor VEGF, induced by UV-C–killed bacteria.ĭiscussion: The results suggest that long term stimulation (for 21 days) of SCAP with UV-C–inactivated bacteria stimulate their mineralization and inflammatory response, while DNA influence has no such effect, which opens up new ideas about the nature of RET failure. coli lipopolysaccharide (LPS) positive control in the case of UV-C–inactivated bacteria meanwhile, DNA treatment decreased the level of ALP compared to the positive control. Immunofluorescence analysis detected that the early mineralization marker alkaline phosphatase (ALP) was increased by the level of E. Results: We showed that mineralization promotion was greater with UV C–inactivated bacteria compared to bacterial DNA. Histochemical staining using Osteoimage Mineralization Assay and Alizarin Red analysis was performed to study SCAP mineralization, while inflammatory and osteo/odontogenic-related responses of SCAPs were assessed with Multiplex ELISA. ![]() Methods: To assess the effect of bacterial remnants on SCAP, we used UV-C–inactivated bacteria (as cell wall-associated virulence factors) and bacterial DNA. The aim of the study was to investigate whether prolonged exposure of stem cells from the apical papilla (SCAP) to bacterial remnants of Fusobacterium nucleatum, Actinomyces gerensceriae, Slackia exigua, Enterococcus faecalis, Peptostreptococcaceae yurii, commonly found in infected traumatized root canals, and the probiotic bacteria Lactobacillus gasseri and Limosilactobacillus reuteri, can alter SCAP’s inflammatory response and mineralization potential. This interference is claimed to be caused by the interaction of bacteria that reside in the root canal with the stem cells that are one of the essentials for RET. Introduction: Bacterial persistence is considered one of the main causal factors for regenerative endodontic treatment (RET) failure in immature permanent teeth. 5Wallenberg Centre for Molecular Medicine, Umeå University, Umeå, Sweden.4Section for Anatomy, Department of Integrative Medical Biology (IMB), Umeå University, Umeå, Sweden. ![]()
1/22/2024 0 Comments Paul on lazarus bible![]() ![]() His sister Mary sat at the Master’s feet and listened to his words. Jesus had previously visited the three brothers and enjoyed the family’s hospitality. Lazarus lived in a little town called Bethany, two miles southeast of Jerusalem, and was the brother of Mary and Martha. His story appears in the scriptures of John 11:144 when a messenger appears where Jesus ministered and asked him to go to a sick man’s house immediately. The story of Lazarus in the Bible points to the idea that Lazarus was a friend of Jesus and the brother of Mary and Martha. Jesus tells his followers: “This sickness will not lead to death no, it is for the glory of God, that the Son of God may be glorified through him.” What Was the Transfiguration of Jesus? What is the story of Lazarus in the Bible?Īccording to John, Jesus receives a message that Lazarus is sick, and his two sisters seek help. Biblical places from the times of Lazarus Why Did Jesus Ride a Donkey into Jerusalem? Biography of Lazarus It is safe to say that Lazarus and his sisters were good friends. Jesus loved her very much and loved her very much. The word used here for “beloved” is agape. John 11:5 shows us: “Jesus loved Martha and her sister and Lazarus of Bethany. Including the accounts mentioned above in John, the Bible tells us that Jesus visited their home on several occasions ( Matthew 21:17, 26:6 Mark 11:1, 1112, 14:3 Luke 19:29 and 24:50 ) Jesus intended to use the death of Lazarus “for the glory of God.”Īccording to the Bible, Lazarus was the brother of Martha and Mary, and his family lived in Bethany, which was in Judea, south of the Mount of Olives near Jerusalem. Death was neither the “object” nor the result of Lazarus’ illness. He also said, “That sickness is not unto death, but to the glory of God, that the Son of God may be glorified through it.” (John 11:4). (John 11:6) Why did Jesus hesitate? He had a purpose in doing this. The report says: “When Jesus heard that his friend Lazarus was sick, he stayed two in the place where he was. Most of the known and amazing miracles in the Lazarus account are related to John 11:143, mentioning Lazarus in John 12:12, 910, and 17. Lazarus remained a friend of the Lord Christ even when his resurrection made him famous and drew the hostility of his leaders. Lazarus’ friendship with Jesus began with an open heart and continued as their home was always available to Jesus and His disciples. From their first meeting, his faith in Christ had been strong, his love for Him was deep, and he was very fond of the Savior.” “Lazarus of Bethany was one of Christ’s most steadfast disciples. But he decided to offer him his friendship. He might have been influenced by the prejudices of his fellow Jews about Christ. Lazarus of Bethany was a Jew living near Jerusalem and a real friend of Jesus Christ. When they called Jesus to heal him, Lazarus’ sisters knew this: “He whom you love” more precisely, who is your friend (John 11:3). He is the only one outside the circle of the twelve disciples who the Gospels say was their friend. Still, it does give us one detail that speaks volumes – Jesus called him a friend: ‘Lazarus of Bethany our friend’ (John 11:11). The Gospel doesn’t give us much information about this man’s character. ![]() ![]() It also makes reference to Mary the Mother of Jesus, found in Luke chapter 2 verse 19, and a similar reference in verse 51.įor example, in Luke 2:19, when Jesus was born and the shepherds came, Mary heard the story of the Good News to the shepherds from the shepherds, and ".Mary quietly treasured these things in her heart and thought about them often." (NLT) It helps to know the story of Martha and her sister Mary, found in Luke chapter 10 verses 38-42. Poem 18 is an extra short pastor wife appreciation poem - just one verse. Rotted areas turn brown to black and become covered with droplets of whitish tan colored bacterial ooze. Fruit Blightīoth apple and pear fruit may be blighted. Cankers can girdle the main branches and trunk causing additional dieback. Sapwood beneath a canker has a reddish brown appearance (Figure 5) and may be soft to the touch. Bark on younger trees becomes water soaked and the cankers have a dark brown to purple color. Image courtesy of Marcus McCartney, OSU Extension, Washington County.Īs fire blight bacteria move through blighted twigs into the main branches, the bark sometimes cracks along the margin of the infected area causing a distinct canker (Figure 5). Note the curved “shepherd’s crook” at the tip of the diseased twigs. During warm and humid weather infected shoots will ooze droplets of creamy white bacteria.įigure 4. Blighted leaves remain attached to the dead branches throughout the summer. As blighted shoots wilt, the twigs bend at the growing point and resemble a shepherd’s crook or an upside down “J” (Figure 4). Blighted twigs first appear water-soaked, then turn dark brown or black. Shoot blight starts at the growing tips of shoots and moves rapidly down into older portions of the twig. Spurs become blighted, turning brown on apples and black on pear (Figure 3). Bacteria spread rapidly into other flowers in the cluster and then move down into the spur. Diseased blossoms become water-soaked, wilt and turn brown. Bacteria gain entry into the tree via blossoms and new shoots. Blossom and Spur Blightīlossom and spur symptoms appear in the spring. Fire blight on apple blossoms and spurs.įire blight symptoms vary depending on the tissue affected and can also vary between pear and apple. Shoots remain highly susceptible to infection until vegetative growth ceases and the terminal bud is formed.įigure 3. Once a shoot is infected, the fire blight bacteria multiply rapidly and droplets of ooze can be seen within three days. Shoot infections can also occur through wounds created by sucking insects (aphids, leafhoppers or tarnished plant bugs), freeze or frost damage, wind whipping, wind-driven rain, or hail. These bacteria multiply rapidly in the blossom nectar, and spread to the spurs (blossom-bearing twigs), new shoots and branches, resulting in secondary infections. Relatively few overwintering cankers become active and produce bacteria in the spring, but a single active canker may produce millions of bacteria, enough to infect an entire orchard. Primary infections (Figure 2) are initiated during bloom when bacteria are carried from the cankers to open flowers by splashing rain, pollinating insects (i.e., bees, pollen wasps, flies, ants) or during production practices such as pruning. Precise environmental conditions are needed for infection to occur and as a result disease incidence varies considerably from year to year.įire blight bacteria overwinter as cankers in living tissue on the trunk and main branches and on mummified fruit. Rain, heavy dews and high humidity favor infection. While young trees can be killed in a single season, older trees can survive several years, even with continuous dieback.įigure 1. On apples and pears, the disease can kill blossoms, fruit, shoots, twigs, branches and entire trees. ![]() The disease is caused by the bacterium Erwinia amylovora, which can infect and cause severe damage to many plants in the rose (Rosaceae) family (Table 1). Both of these can be considered part of the imperfective aspect. The habitual aspect talks about actions that are done regularly, over and over. The progressive (continuous) aspect describes an ongoing or incomplete action. It does not directly indicate how long the action lasts or if it’s repeated.
