It's still basically Dying Light in terms of gameplay, but it's a hellish fantasy slasher that puts players in a whole new realm. Meanwhile, 'Hellraid' is a game being developed by Techland that's currently on hold that players can try out. The latter is an expansion to Kyle Crane's story that focuses on developing his character a little more. Lastly, it worth noting that there is also some DLC available "Hellraid" and "The Following". This is something that shouldn't be overlooked. On top of that, there is also the 'Be a Zombie' mode that also gives some competitive play to this game that provides something unique. Thus, jumping in and helping someone out during their story campaign can also be a fresh take on things. Playing along with friends while slaying zombies during 'Night Hunter' mode can add hours of replay value. Dying Light still has a healthy online community that's chugging along to this day.However, they do garner up nice achievement points and are a good way to sharpen both combat and parkour skills. Doing these are completely optional, of course. These are 'challenges' and they can range from timed events (dismembering 30 zombies in 30 seconds, for example) to just a simple race. When players look at the map, they'll see symbols that have stars on them.Climbing towers are fun to do and there are usually trophies on top of them just waiting to be plucked. Hunting these down is a good way to build up XP and also flesh out the overall story of what Dying Light is all about. There are voicemails, battle journals, and achievements to unlock which are strewn all over the map. If a player is a completionist, then Dying Light will certainly give them their money's worth.There are quite a few missions to try out and some are actually more noteworthy than the main story itself. It's suggested that taking the time and knocking out all the side-missions in the 'Quarantine Zones' to fully expand the world of Dying Light and absorb all the lore it has to offer.The main campaign will take players to every corner of the map and once they finally defeat "Rais", chances are there is a slew of activities overlooked. On top of that, players will need to mind not only their health but also their stamina as enemies claw after Crane from every angle during the chase. Beginning as a furtive, desperate survival-horror experience, Dying Light gradually and gratifyingly evolves into a fast, hyper-violent celebration of vertical freedom and zombie. At night, they transform into "Volatiles", which are fast-moving monsters that will chase players throughout the map while they cling onto their dying flashlight. Daytime zombies are just standard biters and even exploding walking time bombs. Through a dynamic day and night cycle system, players will need to stay on their toes as the enemies will mutate based on the time of day. Everything from an electrified metal baseball bat to a flaming lead pipe can be constructed through items that are found in abandoned buildings, corpses, and by lock-picking chests. There are over 1000 possibilities on how weapons can be forged. ![]() ![]() Players will need to constantly repair their weapons or simply switch out with something better. Utilizing light RPG mechanics, each weapon comes with stats that reflect its effectiveness which also degrades over time. The core of combat is using an expansive list of melee weapons that players can find or create. There are "safe zones" peppered throughout the map that players must first clean out and power-up in order to effectively unlock new missions via various NPC's that will ultimately spawn there. Not only there are undead drones patrolling the streets, but also various factions of survivors ready to pillage anyone that gets in their way. He is a rogue political figure that has information that can ruin Crane's organization's reputation and he must infiltrate the city of Harran to find it and get out in one piece. Players will need to scavenge the map and collect resources to craft weapons and other important items to aide them on their quest to find Kadir "Rais" Suleiman. As players take control of Kyle Crane, they are free to explore a fully open world full of places to loot and side-quests to complete. Developed by Techland, Dying Light was originally released in 2015 and it introduced a new concept of exploring a zombie-infested wasteland with a parkour system that's akin to the Assassin's Creed franchise.
